Information Day- Participation in European Cooperation Programme in Science and Technology COST

21 - 24 February 2011 - In the vein of promoting COST Programme amongst the Albanian scientific community, the Agency of Research, Technology and Innovation (ARTI) has organized a 4-day event on the topic ā€˜Participation in COST Actions: focus on the winners of the National Programme of Research and Developmentā€

Albanian Agency of Research, Technology and Innovation is a governmental body that finances projects in the framework of the National Programme of Research and Development. Based on this, ARTI organized an event aiming at awareness rising of the 53 scientists that are actually conducting research funded by ARTI under this scheme.

During the week of 21.02.2011-24.02.2011, ARTI organized 8 roundtables with the participation of 38 researchers.

Experts from ARTI explained what COST Programme is; the current status of Albania in this Programme; how Albanian researchers can participate in COST Actions as a non-COST country; how to apply and what the benefits are.

The Albanian researchers, who participated in these round tables, expressed the interest to apply and be involved in COST Actions.

In this regard we would expect a new round of applications from the Albanian researchers to join COST actions under the status of Non-COST country.
