EU-FP7: Orientation Papers for 2013 Work Programme

The European Commission has published a number of 'Orientation Papers' which set out the research themes for 2013 work programmes of the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP7). These can be found on http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/page/fp7_documentation/.
Orientation papers for the following areas have so far been released:
Space; Security; Health; Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology; Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies; Environment; Oceans of Tomorrow (cross-thematic calls) and Energy.

EURAXESS is registered as trademark

25 April 2012 - The EURAXESS is now officially registered as trademark.

Owner is the European Union represented by the European Commission.

What does this mean? All around Europe (geographically speaking) all those wishing to use the name and brand EURAXESS risk to be pursued by the EU if they do not ask for permission.

"Technology Licensing for Developing Countries: Dos and Don'ts"- Rome, 25 June - 6 July, 2012

IDLO will be conducting the third edition of the capacity-building course in the area of intellectual property entitled “Technology Licensing for Developing Countries: Dos and Don’ts”, which will be held in Rome from the 25th June to the 6st July 2012.

Republic of Moldova

A Memorandum of Understanding for the association of the Republic of Moldova to FP7 was signed on 11 October 2011.

The Republic of Moldova will become formally associated to the 7th EU Framework Programme (FP7) from 1 January 2012.


On October 12th, 2011, the European Commission published the annual 2011 Progress Report for Albania.

GLOSSARY GUIDE - For recognition of European Community Programmes: FP7, COST, EUREKA, MARIE-CURIE - primary goal is to inform the Research Community on programs and research networks of the European Community with practical information on how to participate in these programs coordinated by ARTI.


Programs

FP7 - bundles all research-related EU initiatives together under a common roof playing a crucial role in reaching the goals of growth, competitiveness and employment.

EUREKA - is more than an organization, it is an ambition: to become the leading platform for R&D-performing entrepreneurs in Europe and beyond.

COST - COST is an intergovernmental framework for European Cooperation in Science and Technology, allowing the coordination of nationally-funded research on a European level.
