Albania - Austria 2015- 2016

Ministry of Education and Sports and Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation (ARTI), Albania in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy, Austria in the framework of the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Republic of Albania and Austria, present the call for proposals for joint scientific research 2015 - 2016.

INNOVATION WEEK IN ALBANIA
The Innovation Week event is organized for the first time in Albania by the Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation. The initiative aims to present the vision of the Albanian Government and undertaken initiatives to modernize Albania through innovation.
The event will take place from 10th to 16th May 2014, in Tirana. Activities that will be organized during the week will bring together projects, initiatives and ideas aiming to provide innovative solutions for solving various problems that the country face every day.
The Opening Ceremony was chaired by Vilma Tomco, Head of Department for European Agenda and Evis Tasellari, Head of Unit of Bilateral Relations at AKTI. It was attended by high Albanian Authorities as Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi, Minister for Innovation and Public Administration Milena Harito, Minister of Education and Sports Lindita Nikolli, representatives of innovation agencies, authors of the innovations of National Catalogue, as well as authors of six studies of catalogue sector studies.
On 10 May, ARTI organized the lunching event of "National Catalogue of Albanian Innovations for Human Development" in the framework of the Week of Innovation. In this conference participated speeches from the line ministries, the authors of the Albanian innovations published in the catalogue, as well as the representatives from the institutions that made possible the publication of this catalogue. Science Week 2014 of Kosovo
On 13- 16 May 2014, the Agency of Research, Technology and Innovation, with a special invitation from the Department of Science and Technology "Scientific Council of MEST", participated in the conference "Science Week 2014". In the conference organized by MEST, there was a broad participation of scientific researchers form different places. The projects presented and the objectives achieved were followed with much interest.
The topics presented were:
1. Language and cultural studies,
2. Historic studies,
3. Natural resources, energy and environment,
4. Agricultural products and food safety,
5. International projects and the perspectives of the researchers of Kosovo participation in them,
6. Technical sciences, innovations and technology transfer,
7. Studies in the field of education,
8. Scientific research in medicine,
9. Social and economic studies,
10. Presentation of the results of the scientific projects funded from MEST.
The close cooperation between the Agency of Research, Technology and Innovation and MEST, is an important contribution to the economic, social and cultural development of the respective countries.
Protocol for scientific and technological cooperation between Austria and Albania
Following the government agreement signed in May 2012 , the Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation , the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research , on 23-24 April 2014 held the first meeting of the Joint Albanian- Austrian Committee on scientific and technological cooperation, in Tirana. National Catalogue of Innovations for Human Development in Albania
In 2012, UNDP Programme for Governance and Local Development, ART GOLD2, IDEASS International Cooperation together with BAZH NGO and ARTI collaborated for the first time in the creation of the National Catalogue of Innovations for Human Development in Albania. JRC Information Day
On October 3, the Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation in cooperation with Joint Research Centre – JRC organized at Rogner Hotel- Europa Park the event "JRC General Information Day". Congratulation to Western Balkan countries and Moldova who signed up to Horizon 2020!
On July 1, 2014, five Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia) and the Republic of Moldova secured full access to the European Union's new seven year research and innovation programme "Horizon 2020" by signing the association agreement in Brussels.
The association agreements, which will apply retroactively as from 1 January, 2014, will allow research and innovation entities from this countries to take advantage of all the funding opportunities offered under Horizon 2020 right from the start.
Horizon 2020 is the new European Union funding programme for research and innovation running from 2014 to 2020.
On 11 December 2013, The European Commission has for the first time presented calls for project under this programme. Worth more than €15 billion over the first two years, the funding is intended to help boost Europe's knowledge-driven economy, and tackle issues that will make a difference in people's lives.

EU-FP7: Orientation Papers for 2013 Work Programme
The European Commission has published a number of 'Orientation Papers' which set out the research themes for 2013 work programmes of the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP7). These can be found on http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/page/fp7_documentation/.
Orientation papers for the following areas have so far been released:
Space; Security; Health; Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology; Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies; Environment; Oceans of Tomorrow (cross-thematic calls) and Energy.
EURAXESS is registered as trademark
25 April 2012 - The EURAXESS is now officially registered as trademark.
Owner is the European Union represented by the European Commission.
What does this mean? All around Europe (geographically speaking) all those wishing to use the name and brand EURAXESS risk to be pursued by the EU if they do not ask for permission.
Republic of Moldova
A Memorandum of Understanding for the association of the Republic of Moldova to FP7 was signed on 11 October 2011.
The Republic of Moldova will become formally associated to the 7th EU Framework Programme (FP7) from 1 January 2012.
NATIONAL CATALOGUE OF INNOVATIONS FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT IN ALBANIA - The goal of the catalogue is the systemization of creative practices of local actors bringing innovation solutions to common problems. This catalogue contains the 13 Albanian innovations for human development within the catalogue IDEASS.
GUIDE - VIABLE SEARCH FOR EUROPEAN PROJECTS - this guide aims to help somehow the Research Community to find information needed for programs and research networks of the European Community. In it you will find a summary of the most important web portals for Scientific Research in Europe.
GLOSSARY GUIDE - For recognition of European Community Programmes: FP7, COST, EUREKA, MARIE-CURIE - primary goal is to inform the Research Community on programs and research networks of the European Community with practical information on how to participate in these programs coordinated by ARTI.
